There’s no going without your equipment in Call of Duty Vanguard. It might not be the focal point of your loadout, but it never does to ignore the potential of your tools. We have taken a look at the options and here are our recommendations for the best equipment in Call of Duty Vanguard.
Call of duty vanguard: Best Lethal Equipment
Best: Thermite
The thermite grenade is the number one pick in the lethal equipment slot. Like the Molotov, it does damage over time to enemies in the area. What separates it is that it explode first, and also sticks to surfaces. It makes for a hell of a distraction as well, just being near one of these things can obscure your vision. This one grenade does a lot at once, making it an easy choice for the top spot.
Alternate: Throwing Knife
You can’t have a Call of Duty without some sort of throwing weapon. In Call of Duty Vanguard, we get a throwing knife. It’s hard to call this a top-tier choice, it has no real tactical use outside of getting a kill. Even getting a kill with one of these knives is tricky, these weapons are always more of a gimmick than anything. It’s fun to use, always satisfying to pull off, so feel free to bring these into your loadout if you fancy it!
Use For Now: Frag Grenade
The box standard frag grenade you start out with is reasonably useful. It’s nothing special, but it’ll keep you going until you unlock something more useful. The reason to bring this up is that before you unlock thermite or throwing knives, you unlock the gammon bomb. The gammon bomb explodes instantly on contact, which would be useful if it wasn’t so weak. The damage is not enough to make the bomb useful, the only real upside to using it is hearing characters shout “I’m throwing gammon!”, which is always fun. So, our recommendation is to continue to use the frag grenade instead.

Best: Stim
Call of Duty Vanguard is a fast-paced game. Death is always around the corner, survivability is not high. Anything you can do to keep yourself in the fight for longer is always a good idea, so the stim equipment is really useful. Using the stim at any time fully recovers your health and sprinting stamina. You get two uses per life, so regular use of the stim is recommended to keep yourself healthy.
Altertate: Stun Grenade
If the stim isn’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with a stun grenade. Having these grenades on hand to throw into rooms full of unsuspecting enemies is always a good time, and a great way to get an edge on the competition. You could also use a smoke grenade to impede their vision, but the usefulness of smoke is a lot more situational than the always valuable stun grenade.
