Call of Duty players love to do some sniping. Thankfully, Call of Duty Vanguard does not want to let those players down. You could argue that sniper rifles have no real place in Call of Duty. The maps are too small and the pace of the game is too high to warrant them. This is why sniping has taken on a whole other meaning in Call of Duty, and quick scoping is the name of the game. The ideal sniper in Call of Duty Vanguard is both quick and lethal. Something that can dish out high calibre damage at a moment’s notice. Well, we have just the weapon.
A Good Place to Start
As with the SMGs, we are spoiled with snipers. The Type 99 is the first sniper rifle granted to the player in Call of Duty Vanguard. As stock, it doesn’t leave much of an impression. It’s a typical sniper rifle, pull the trigger and anything in those crosshairs is likely to die. It starts out slow and sluggish, as most sniper rifles do. As you level the gun up and unlock attachments, the Type 99 grows into something very different altogether.
Fast and Deadly
If you’re looking for a classic sniping experience, to lie in the grass and wait for unsuspecting prey to enter your sight, there probably are better options. The Type 99 is perfectly usable for the patient sniper, but this is Call of Duty. To get the most out of a sniper rifle here, you want to be out there in the thick of things.
This is how you want to set up your Type 99 to do just that. First of all, you want a Shiraishi Short barrel to get that aim-down-sights and sprint to fire speed up. A Mercury silencer is always good, but if you want to go loud, go ahead! A change of scope is recommended if you’re planning to do some quick scoping. Something like a 2.5 magnification would be good but that really comes down to your own personal preference. The Sakura CVR Custom stock is a must though, not only adding to your ADS speed but with boosted initial shot accuracy, crucial when one shot is all you need.
Over in the proficiency slot, the Vital proficiency is, well, vital! What this does is give you an increased critical hit area on enemies, giving you a much better chance to land a killing blow first shot, especially at longer ranges. Couple this with the 8mm Klauser 5 Round Mags and Lengthened bullet type for all but guaranteed one-shot kills. Put all this together, and you have a quick-scoping doom machine. Use it wisely.
