With Marvel’s Spider Man 2 reported to be releasing sometime this Fall, one of its actors may have accidentally revealed a September release date.
Back in September, Sony announced that players could expect the web-slinging sequel sometime in Fall 2023. Now it appears this could mean September, thanks to Venom actor Tony Todd.
The Slip Up
This news comes after Todd (accidentally) let slip this release period via Twitter. With well-known roles in Candyman and Final Destination, Todd is hoping to bring a unique spin to Venom.
His role in Spider Man 2 was announced back in 2021 alongside the news that Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter would be reprising their roles as Peter Parker and Miles Morales respectively.
In this Twitter post (that has since been deleted), Todd claims that Insomniac is looking to launch the sequel this September. He posted a photo of himself clad in a motion capture rig with the caption:
“Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in August. Commercials start dropping in August so I’m told. Hold on to your … and hold breath! Gonna be necessary”.
Looking forward to Spider Man 2
As the Tweet has since been deleted, we can safely assume that Todd did not mean to release this insider information. Additionally, we can also take this news with a pinch of salt. Neither Sony or Insomniac have commented on this as of yet.
However, with a Fall release date confirmed through the proper channels, September is not too hard to believe. Either way, it is set to be an exciting sequel.
Until then, it has been reported that Spider Man 2 will feature “very cool technology” which could consist of more intuitive NPCs and dialogue options.
