For those excited to get their hands on the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC, you won’t have to wait much longer. Here’s what we know.
Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores Release Date
For those unsure about the release date, we can expect to see it launched on April 19. Despite not receiving too much information about the DLC in recent months, no delays have been announced as of yet.
The Price Tag & Pre-Order Details
Burning Shores will cost $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99 which is an acceptable price for a DLC. You will also pay this price if you pre-order the game now.
Additionally, if you do pre-order now, you will gain access to two digital bonuses. These will consist of the Blacktide Dye outfit (available from the first dye merchant you meet in-game) as well as a Blacktide Sharpshot Bow (available from the first shopkeeper in the game).
When can you access Burning Shores?
As Burning Shores takes place after the main story of Horizon Forbidden West, you must complete the main game in order to dive into the DLC.
The DLC will trigger after the final mission (titled Singularity) and sees Aloy receiving a ‘call’ which will lead her to the DLC zone.
This is unlike The Frozen Wilds DLC that we saw for the prequel, Horizon Zero Dawn. This one triggered halfway through the main expansion and served as a side story.

Despite not receiving too much information about this upcoming DLC, we do know that it will take place in a new area for Aloy – the volcanic ruins of Los Angeles.
Additionally, Burning Shores will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. However, devs assure us that this means the DLC will look better than ever.
