After just a few short weeks since release, the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has already dropped outside of the top 40 charts.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will likely be aware of all the post-launch problems of Rockstar Games’ remastered classics. Poor reviews, bugs, glitches, a decrease in visual quality and performance, and more. It’s been a very challenging time for the highly anticipated classic GTA titles.
Rockstar Games have released a couple of patches to fix the three remastered games, but they’re all still far from being up to the expected standards. Don’t get me wrong, improvements have been made. However, it can be argued that the collection should never have been released in its initial state.
Unfortunately for Rockstar Games, it’s going from bad to worse for the tongue twister named “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.” As reported by TheGamer (via Gamesindustry.biz), the GTA Trilogy has now fallen out of the top 40 charts for physical sales.
Is there any way back?
While Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released digitally on November 11th, 2021, the physical version was only released on December 17th. Furthermore, when the physical version was released, it debuted at number 8. Which isn’t that bad considering the issues that plagued the digital launch.
Unless something drastic happens in the near future, I’d be shocked to see the remastered trilogy climb anywhere near the top 10 again. Though I could be wrong.
