Yesterday it was revealed that Diablo 4 will be opening its doors for another beta weekend this May. Here’s everything we know about the event.
It was revealed during the Developer Update Livestream that streamed last night that the Blizzard team are hosting another beta weekend next month. This will allow players who missed out last time to delve into the world of Diablo 4 before it releases in June.
Diablo 4 Beta Details
With the success of the previous Diablo 4 beta, it is perhaps no surprise that the team is hosting another. This one will run from May 12 to May 14 and is known as the ‘Server Slam’. There’s no doubt this is referring to the previous beta which saw players waiting in queues that went way over the 100s.
The Server Slam event will again allow players to explore the game’s first zone – Fractured Peaks as well as experiencing the prologue and act one. Additionally, you will be able to select between one of Diablo 4’s five available classes – Rogue, Sorcerer, Druid, Barbarian and Necromancer.
You will also be able to try your hand at the world boss, Ashava which will award you with the Cry of Ashava mount trophy. Not only that but if you missed out the first time, you can reach level 20 on at least one character to unlock the Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic. This will be rewarded to you at Diablo 4’s full launch.
Progress Will Not Carry Over
It is worth noting that if you did play the previous betas, any progress will not carry over. Neither will it carry forward to full launch. Although that will be disappointing to some, it is the perfect time to get a feel for the game and try your hand at all the available classes.
“Any character progress made during the Early Access and Open Beta weekends will not carry over to Server Slam. Additionally, any character made during Server Slam will not carry over to launch,” noted the post via Blizzard.
Additionally, the recent changes made to the game as a result of feedback from the previous beta have been implemented. This means players will hopefully see improvements to such things as dungeon diversity and the insane power of Necromancers.
