Despite only being a rumour until now, Counter Strike 2 was finally revealed this week. Not only that, but you can access its beta now.
In a trailer titled ‘Leveling up the World,’ Valve have revealed that the second instalment in the series will feature improved tick-rate, responsive smokes and a leveled-up world.
Counter Strike 2 How To Access The Beta
Valve have announced that CS2 will release during Summer 2023. In even more exciting news, you can access the beta as of today! You can find out more about the ‘limited test’ here.
Unfortunately, there are some requirements before you can get your hands on the early access. You must be selected by Valve. They take players into consideration based on their recent playtime on Valve servers, trust factor and Steam account standing.
Additionally, you will not be eligible to play CS2 if you have had any kind of VAC ban on your account during CS:GO.
If you are one of the lucky few to be selected, you will receive a notification on the CS:GO main menu. Selecting this will allow you to ‘ENROLL’ and start the download for CS2.
Once it is downloaded, simply select ‘Limited Test’ on the CS:GO main screen to begin your journey.
What is new for Counter Strike 2?
In a series of short videos posted over on the Valve Youtube account, the team runs through the new features that will be coming to the game. With Valve promising “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the C-S experience.”
Additionally, changes will be coming to the much-loved maps from CS:GO. The team promises that “Maps in Counter-Strike are core to the game, and maps in Counter-Strike 2 are being improved in every way.”
