It might be safe to assume that there will be some first-party titles highlighted at State of Play, especially with the likes of God of War Ragnarok releasing this November, as well as PS VR2 arriving sometime during early 2023.

What will be at State of Play?

Seeing as we don’t know for sure what Japanese games will be showcased during the broadcast later today, let’s get our speculative juices flowing.

The Resident Evil 4 remake arrives in March 2023 and we’ve also got a PS VR2 port of RE Village to look forward to. So, we’d be surprised if Capcom doesn’t feature one way or another.

We know that Konami will be at the Tokyo Game Show, but could it make a surprise announcement during Sony’s event? After all, both Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid are not only PlayStation greats, but rumours of remakes have been circulating for quite some time.

Furthermore, we know that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16 is a timed PlayStation exclusive, so hopefully, we’ll see more of that either during State of Play or TGS. Finally, could we also see the rumoured Elden Ring DLC announced by Bandai Namco? Only time will tell.
