Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War & Warzone’s Season 4 update is fast approaching (June 17) and there’s heaps of new content on the way. From new multiplayer maps and weapons to new points of interest within the map of Verdansk, there’s plenty of fans of the shooter to sink their teeth into. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Call of Duty Season 4.
Ground Fall Event GiVes The Season An Explosive Start
First off, Season 4 is set to feature a new limited-time event titled “Ground Fall”, which involves the player seeking out and securing SAT-Links to earn exclusive rewards in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Here’s an explanation of the event from the Call of Duty website:
“For this event, you’ll tackle objectives pertaining to the new modes, maps, and weaponry in Black Ops Cold War and to the new Points of Interest in Warzone. Completing these objectives will reward you with items such as Emblems, Calling Cards, and a Satellite Weapon Charm, as well as some XP. Complete every challenge, and you’ll receive an Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint that is truly out of this world.
“You can find more details about this event in the Seasonal Event tab on the main menu between Play and Weapons once Season Four kicks off in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.”
Three new operators
If you watched the latest Call of Duty Season 4 trailer, you’ll probably recall that it featured a rather intimidating masked merc. According to the Call of Duty blog, this is Jackal, one of the latest operators to be added to the game. Available as part of season four’s launch, Jackal apparently “works for the highest bidder” and is one of the “strongest survivors in his company”.
Joining Jackal during Season 4 are two additional operators, Grigori Weaver and Salah: NATO, the former of which fans will remember from the first Black Ops game. While Salah is “quick to see the best in people” and will “always have your back”, Weaver’s dedication has compelled him to “return to duty after the recent loss of his left eye”.
Four NEW Multiplayer Maps
That’s right, four additional multiplayer maps are headed to Black Ops Cold War as part of Season 4’s free content offerings. From the Algerian desert to a luxury yacht in the middle of the ocean, these new maps should help to change things up.
New Cold War and War Zone weapons
Of course, Season 4 also comes with five new weapons. Here’s what’s in the pipe line for the game’s latest season:
- MG 82 LMG
- C58 Assault Rifle
- Nail Gun SMG
- OTs 9 SMG
- Mace
