Today saw Square Enix release a teaser promotional image for the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 patch. Let’s see what we know so far.
With Final Fantasy 14’s 6.4 patch releasing next month, Square Enix have begun offering us some details about what we can expect. The new patch continues the Endwalker story where it left off and a new image hints at a formidable enemy.
(The following includes spoilers for Main Scenario Quests following the Endwalker campaign.)
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.4
The image posted today on the Final Fantasy 14 official Twitter shows the looming presence of Golbez, who we have already met during the Endwalker campaign. The image shows Golbez sitting on his dark throne with an orb above his head. The orb features one half of an Ascian mask…
Golbez is also a main antagonist in both Final Fantasy IV and The After Years sequel. It is expected that our Warrior of Lights will have to finally face him in the upcoming patch but until we know more, let’s take a look at what we can expect from the patch.

Square Enix have also hinted at some other changes so make sure to stay tuned to the new teaser website for updates. We can however be expected to hear more news with the second FF14 6.4 preview stream soon.
Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Its 6.4 patch will be released ‘late May 2023.’
