After months of rumours, PlayStation has finally announced its upcoming PlayStation Plus rebrand designed to compete with Xbox Game Pass.
In June this year, PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now will be combined into a single service of different tiers. You have a choice of three different tiers to subscribe to, each with their own perks and benefits.
The first one is called PlayStation Plus Essential, which provides the same benefits as the regular PS Plus with monthly downloadable games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, and online multiplayer access. There is no change here for existing Plus members. It is available from £6.99 monthly / £19.99 quarterly / £49.99 yearly.
The second tier is called PlayStation Plus Extra, which provides all the benefits from the previous tier as well as downloadable games from the PS4 and PS5 library on PlayStation Now. It is available from £10.99 monthly / £31.99 quarterly / £83.99 yearly.
Finally, the third tier is called PlayStation Plus Premium. Here, you get all the benefits from Plus Essential and Plus Extra, but also a catalog of original PS1, PS2 and PS3 games available in both download and stream options. It is available from £13.49 monthly / £39.99 quarterly / £99.99 yearly.
