While playing the game Control, the side mission ‘A Captive Audience’ tasks you with entering the Hypnosis Lab to find the X-Ray Lightbox Object of Power. If you’ve been having trouble solving the puzzle inside the Hypnosis Lab, hopefully this guide will help you out.
STARTING A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE
First of all, you need to know where the Hypnosis Lab is and how to start the A Captive Audience side mission. It’s unlocked by picking up a collectible near the Parapsychology Control Point which you can fast travel to. Head to the giant brain statue and find the nearby room with a whiteboard with the Research and Records: Astralnauts file on top of a blue cabinet. This will activate the A Captive Audience side mission.
Next, head to Parapsychology and find the room with lots of desks and lights hanging from the ceiling. From here, find the Hypnosis Lab room door and enter it. You’ll see a bunch of FBC workers in a hypnotised state by the lightbox. The door to the lightbox is locked, so you must head into the room on your right and interact with the console to unlock it.
Here, there’s a small puzzle for you to solve to access the X-Ray Lightbox Object of Power.
HOW TO SOLVE THE HYPNOSIS LAB PUZZLE IN CONTROL
On the console, pressing up, left, down and right will manipulate the symbol on the monitor. Your objective is to change the image so it resembles the clue, which is pinned to a board just behind the console.
Ideally, you should focus on one section of the image at a time, and slowly work your way towards filling it out. If you get one part of it working then move onto the next part.
However, if you just want the solution, here’s the buttons you should press (via the D-Pad on a controller or arrow keys on keyboard and mouse):
- Up
- Right
- Down
- Left
- Up
- Right
- Down
- Left
- Up
Doing this in the correct order should unlock the door to the room holding the X-Ray Lightbox. Exit the puzzle room, head to the right and through the door by the window. Follow the path and cleanse the X-Ray Lightbox to get the Seize ability.
