A Skyrim player has truly gone their own way by reaching level 241, without leaving the caves underneath Helgen.
Skyrim is almost ten years old and remains very popular with its fans. So it’s not surprising that they’ve been finding new challenges to bring new life to the game.
As reported by GAMINGbible, when you escape from Helgen, you can attack your companion Hadvar from behind. Since this is only a tutorial they won’t fight back or take any damage – so you can do this for as long as you like. Grinding like this might be some players’ idea of hell – but it means you can build up your level before you even really begin the game.
One player has confessed on Reddit that they took this approach to the extreme. u/Harlen_Sinclair levelled their character to the maximum possible level – 241. All without leaving that first cave.
However, as many of those in the comments point out, levelling up in this way can have some negative effects. u/Harlen_Sinclair shared that they died a lot when they tried to progress into the game:
“Oh, I died when I tried to leave the tutorial. A lot. Having the 100 One-Handed helped, but having the most basic weapons and armor made some of those enemies VERY risky!”
It’s just one of those fun little quirks that fans of Skyrim have discovered over the years – from magic garlic bread to the possibility of being killed by your own adopted kid.
