Cal Kestis, the protagonist of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could be getting his own show on Disney Plus, claims an insider.
Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2019, before being ported to new-gen consoles in 2021. It was an immersive Star Wars story that proved to Electronic Arts that single player games were well and truly alive.
Earlier this year, a sequel to Fallen Order was announced with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The sequel promises to have a darker tone than its predecessor. The sequel will arrive in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sadly, it will not be coming to last-gen consoles.
However, it seems that Cal Kestis, played by Cameron Monaghan (Gotham) could be getting his own TV series inspired by the video game on Disney Plus. If reports are true.
Would Star Wars Jedi make a good adaptation?
The claims are courtesy of Star Wars fan, and insider, Kristian Harloff. He claimed that a trusted source told him that a show starring Cal is in the works. However, Harloff did state that the rumour is currently unconfirmed at this time.
“Have to say that rumour rumour, not confirmed. But, I got this from somebody that I’ve trusted in the past, heard things in the past, tells me this is a thing,” claimed Harloff. “The rumour itself, at the moment, ladies, and gentlemen. The popular character of Cal Kestis, who you know was played by Cameron Monaghan […], rumour is that there’s a Cal Kestis show in the works for Disney Plus.
“The rumour is that [Cameron Monaghan] actually signed on to play the character from Jedi: Fallen Order in a live-action series for Disney Plus,” he continued. “There’s no production dates set, but my source tells me that this is happening.”
Obviously, we must take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. However, as much as I would like to see this series happen, I hope that Cal arrives with his crew. Because in my opinion, while I really enjoyed Jedi Fallen Order, Cal wasn’t the most charismatic Jedi.
