In all the ways you can beat Skyrim, you can now add ‘with a fishing rod’ to the list thanks to one player.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition has only been out for about a week now. But Reddit user TheFogFrog has still managed to beat the game using a fishing rod. TheFogFrog posted a screenshot of a felled Alduin, the final boss of the game, holding a fishing rod in either hand. It’s undeniably an impressive feat, and one that follows in a 10 year legacy of weird ways to play Skyrim.
In a comment on the post, TheFogFrog said, “I hadn’t played Skyrim since the last re-release and once I heard that you could wield the fishing rod, I couldn’t help myself at all.” Clearly, the thrill of hand to hand combat in Skyrim with only a fishing rod to your name was too alluring for TheFogFrog to miss out on.
Fishing is a brand new addition to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Considering this is yet another re-release of Skyrim, it makes sense that Bethesda chose to include something new for the 10th anniversary of the game.
Fishing is frequently a popular pastime in games. Games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley let you collect legions of fish. So fishing in Skyrim is sure to add hours of content to the game. And if you’re someone like TheFogFrog, hours more on top of that.
