Historically, the Souls games are hard. We all know this, some of us love it, some of us loathe it. They are what they are, and you roll with the punches. One of the biggest things that adds to this difficulty is the fact that you cannot pause in any of the games.
Obviously many aspects of Souls games are controversial, but the lack of a pause function is definitely one of the more divisive ones. Well, if you aren’t a fan of not being able to pause, and you play on PC, you’re in luck. Because now there’s a mod that lets you do just that (thanks, PC Gamer).
The Elden Ring mod, very simply titled ‘Pause the game‘ (made by TechieW), lets you do exactly that. “Lets you pause the game by pressing P,” the description aptly notes.
The mod itself is a very simple concept. Though it is important to note that you will need anti-cheat to be disabled, and you will need to play it offline. Which makes sense of course because pausing the game for everyone might be a bit of a headache. And would probably lead to a ban.
It’s likely the mod will be an incredibly useful one for the parent who tries to fit in five minutes of Elden Ring here and there. And to be fair, it just generally sounds useful. Sometimes you gotta answer your door to get some mail. Come on Elden Ring, let us answer the door.
