Here’s the first sci-fi teaser for The Dark Pictures Anthology season two. However, the trailer hasn’t ‘officially’ been released.
The Devil in Me is the fourth and final episode for season one of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It’s a tradition in this series that when you are near to finishing an episode, you will be treated to a teaser of what’s to come.
The Dark Pictures Anthology debut season concludes
Obviously, with The Devil in Me being the final episode of season one, the natural progression would be a tease for the new season and that’s exactly what we got. That being said, the developer’s Supermassive Games are yet to release a trailer officially. Instead, the teaser is shared by a third-party source with the footage being in-game.
Now, this “trailer” made its way across social media before the actual release of The Devil in Me. So we can only speculate how they might have gotten early access to the game and shared the footage first.
Season two is all about sci-fi horror
The first episode of season two is called Directive 8020 and it’s taking a new sci-fi horror direction. While this genre isn’t new for other franchises, it’s certainly something very different compared to the series’ previous Earth-grounded episodes.
Judging by the teaser trailer, a crew is on board the Cassiopeia ship and a new planet is discovered called Tau Ceti f. It appears that planet Earth is no longer hospitable and the human race is looking for a new home.
Unfortunately for the crew, taking inspiration from the likes of Dead Space, something inhuman has ravaged the ship and all hell has broken loose.
Oh, just a heads up, Bandai Namco is pulling the trailers down for Directive 8020. So if you want to watch the trailer, we’d recommend watching it ASAP.
When will Directive 8020 be released?
At this time Supermassive Games hasn’t provided a release date, largely due to the fact that season two hasn’t officially been announced. However, taking into account season one, each episode is released on a yearly basis. So, with a bit of luck, season two of The Dark Pictures Anthology will kick off in 2023.
