Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players are stealing double XP codes in the US and selling them for illegal profits.
The double XP codes in question are part of a Jack Link’s Pork Strips promotion. Furthermore, it’s intended that with promotional packs, you will be gifted with a free double XP code for Modern Warfare 2.
Codes are easy pickings for thieves
However, it seems that some are stealing XP codes from promotional packets and then selling those codes. Meaning that many are not receiving the additional XP code with their purchase.
As reported by PC Gamer, rather than XP codes being inside of the packet, they are instead glued onto the front of the packet. We’re not sure why this decision was made, but it’s making it very easy for thieves to swipe the codes.
A video clip was shared by the Call of Duty Twitter page ModernWarzone, making its followers aware that when purchasing packets of beef jerky, they come with the promotional code.
However, as mentioned by Eurogamer, a follower accused ModernWarzone of “making the problem worse” by drawing attention to it. Presumably, the follower believes that would-be thieves are being encouraged to steal codes.
Yet, as ModernWarzone mentions, this was a problem before further attention was drawn to it. Moreover, the fan pages’ intention was to help customers not be scammed.
What if you purchased a product without a Call of Duty code?
In response to the Twitter thread, a follower mentioned that if you contact Jack Link’s customer service with proof of purchase, you should be able to claim your missing double XP codes that way instead.
A viewer of mine told me they called Jack Links customer service, provided the receipt and they got 4 codes for their 4 bags without codes.

If you were hoping to get a free double XP code with purchases of Jack Link’s Pork Strips, make sure the packet hasn’t been tampered with by pesky thieves.
