Despite development on the popular farming sim being somewhat finalised recently, Stardew Valley is finally getting an update set for late 2023, early 2024.
Developer ConcernedApe have had their sights set elsewhere lately focusing on their other title Hotel Chocolatier. However, they are going back to their roots with a promised update for everyone’s favourite farming simulator.
Stardew Valley 1.6 Update
This news comes courtesy of an announcement posted on the developer’s Twitter this weekend. It reads:
“There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update. It’s mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I’m taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC.”
As the post mentions, the majority of the updates will be aimed at modders in order to make the game easier to mod. However, it also promises new content, albeit “much less than 1.5.”
What can we expect?
In the comments, one Twitter user asks if the new Stardew Valley update will “add more dialogue for the characters”. In reply, ConcernedApe says, “yeah the new update will have some more dialogues. working on it as we speak!”
However, that is about all that is said about Stardew Valley with other Twitter users wanting to hear more about Hotel Chocolatier. This isn’t surprising, considering the developers say they will be going right back to this game after Stardew’s 1.6 update drops.
Additionally, the post didn’t include when we can expect this update. However, considering they are still working on it, it’s doubtful we will get it before late 2023/early 2024.
For now, that is all the information we have about Stardew Valley 1.6 but we will be sure to update you as we learn more.
