Finally, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are now available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Happy days!
When Nintendo launched its online subscription service, it initially released a selection of classic NES and SNES titles. As the months evolved, that library of games increased with Nintendo 64 as well as SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis offerings.
Plenty of Game Boy games are coming to Nintendo Switch
However, following a rumour back in September 2021, original Game Boy, Color and Game Boy Advanced titles are now playable via Nintendo Switch Online. However, that selection of classic games will be dependent on your active subscription tier.
For example, Game Boy and Color titles will be available for the basic Nintendo Switch Online tier. However, Expansion Pass subscribers will have the additional Game Boy Advance titles.
Moreover, depending on the game at hand, some will feature multiplayer both locally as well as online. What’s more, below is the list of Game Boy and GBA games currently available via Nintendo Switch Online:
Game Boy (basic NSO tier)
- Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
- Game and Watch Gallery 3
- Gargoyle’s Quest
- Kirby’s Dream Land
- Metroid II: Return of Samus
- Super Mario Land 2
- Tetris
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
- Wario Land 3
Game Boy Advance (basic and Expansion Pass tier)
- Kuru Kuru Kururin
- Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
- Mario Kart Super Circuit
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (with e-Reader)

Additional Game Boy and GBA titles will be added to the library at later dates. Some of those titles include The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages, Pokemon Trading Card Game, Metroid Fusion, Fire Emblem as well as F-Zero, and more.
