Final Fantasy 16 director, Hiroshi Takai has revealed that the upcoming game will have around 70 hours of content, including story and side content.
In the latest instalment of Famitsu, the Japanese video game magazine, an interview with the creators behind Final Fantasy 16 was released. Thanks to a translation by Twitter user aitaikimochi, we can take a look at what was said about the upcoming title.
Final Fantasy 16 Will Have Tons of Content
In the interview with Takai and producer Naoki Yoshida, a lot of new information was revealed about the game. Most importantly, we discover that a normal playthrough of the game will be around 35 hours.
This will pair with the addition of a leaderboard that will allow players to battle for “endless gameplay.” Takai said:
“FF16 is a story-driven game that will take you on a roller coaster trip. You’ll see the entirety of Clive’s way of life, and the game will probably take about 35 hours to clear. If we include side content, it can be double that amount”.
This reveals what many fans have been questioning about the amount of side content. Safe to say, with side content doubling the amount of time it takes to play the game, there will be countless things to do in Final Fantasy 16.
Yoshi P Would Like You to finish the game
For Yoshi-P, he would like players to “at least aim to complete the story.” He says this as he acknowledges gamers are usually “really busy with other things.” Although this seems like a personal attack, he isn’t wrong.
The team also revealed that in its early stages, the game was around twenty hours long. Additionally, the team tried to keep it around 24 hours but couldn’t help but add extra content. It will be interesting to see if the added content is beneficial to the story.
It was also recently revealed that Final Fantasy 16 could consist of up to eleven hours of cutscenes. However, rest assured that these will not be in the middle of battle. It seems the voice actors had their work cut out for this FF instalment.
