The Last of Us Part 1 PC players are having issues

With The Last of Us Part 1 releasing on PC yesterday, it is facing a few issues due to crashing issues and technical shortcomings.

It is safe to say that the long-awaited PC launch of The Last of Us Part 1 did not go to plan. With players complaining about crashes, stutters and a terrible port or ND/IGS, its reviews are taking a beating.

As a result, it is currently sitting at a ‘mostly negative’ rating on Steam with only 33% of 6,323 user reviews being positive.

Naughty Dog to the rescue

However, Naughty Dog have taken to Twitter to acknowledge the understandable disappointment.

“The Last of Us Part I PC players: we’ve heard your concerns, and our team is actively investigating multiple issues you’ve reported,” they stated. “We will continue to update you, but our team is prioritizing updates and will address issues in upcoming patches.”

This still doesn’t stop players from feeling a bit let down, especially as it was already delayed to ensure the “PC debut is in the best shape possible.” It has been reported that even with high-end specs, TLOU is still experiencing frame drops, long loading times, crashes and stutters and poor optimisation.

Future plans for Naughty Dog

This news also comes alongside Naughty Dog recently making a promise to its PC fans. The studio has plans to create more games across both PlayStation 5 and PC and embrace multi platform development. This was addressed in a blog post.

“So, where will the next Naughty Dog development adventure take us? Rest assured, PlayStation and PC players, we’re already looking forward to sharing more, whether you prefer a DualSense controller or a keyboard and mouse.” The post begins.

Developing for both platforms empowers us to incorporate lessons learned from either into the overall design of our games. Sharing our stories and experiences on PS5 as well as PC is something that Naughty Dog has embraced and will continue to support moving forward.”
