The Resident Evil 4 Remake will be getting a free DLC with The Mercenaries update. Here is everything we know about the upcoming addition.
This news comes after it was confirmed on the same day the Resident Evil 4 Remake launched. With raving reviews already under its belt and showing no signs of stopping, this will be the perfect accompaniment for players who can’t get enough of the remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Free DLC
When news of the Resident Evil 4 Remake dropped, fans hoped the game would receive the same Mercenaries mode it did back when it first released for the PS2 port. This mode allowed players to revisit areas of the game and kill enemies in exchange for points.
Players who completed the DLC with a 5-star ranking would receive a Hand cannon which they could purchase in the main story. A 5-star ranking was possible by getting an end score of 60,000 points which is the highest available rank.
The arcade-style game designed to be played against the clock was a big hit so it’s no surprise it will now be coming to the Remake too.
Capcom announced The Mercenaries DLC would be making an appearance and luckily, it’s a lot sooner than we thought. It will be dropping on April 7, just two weeks after the game’s launch.
How to access the DLC
Although it has yet to be confirmed, we can assume The Mercenaries DLC will only be available once you have beat the game. Not only does this make sense as you revisit areas, but this is also how it worked in the 2005 original.
The DLC will also be available across all platforms.
