Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will have a darker tone than Fallen Order, said game director Stig Asmussen during a recent interview.
First announced back in January this year, we have now been treated to our first look at the Fallen Order sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
During an interview on the official Star Wars website, Asmussen teased that Cal and his crew are going through “dark times” which is why the sequel is called “Survivor”.
When asked if the sequel will be “mysterious and menacing,” Asmussen replied: “Yeah, you nailed it.” Adding: “Right there, that’s the purpose in the tone of it, is to leave the player with a lot of questions but they’re very intrigued.”
Dark times are ahead for Cal
“The game is all about survival. That’s why it’s called Jedi: Survivor,” continued Asmussen. “They are in dark times, and Cal and the crew are doing whatever it takes to stay alive.”
In terms of what we know of the story so far in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the official synopsis reveals that: “Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.
“Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force.”
