Respawn Entertainment has announced a delay in the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which originally had a March 17 release date.
The highly anticipated action-adventure sequel to the 2019 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will now be released on April 28. However, Respawn has assured us that the game is “content complete” but they will spend this extra time focusing on bug fixes. These will focus on performance enhancement, stability and polish.
Why the delay?
“In order for the team to hit the Respawn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release schedule,” the studio wrote. Although this will mean an extra six weeks to wait, it is reassuring to know that the team wants to spend extra time making sure players have the best experience.
What will be new for the sequel?
There were also some details about the next chapter in the Cal Kestis tale. As a result of direct feedback from fans of Survivor’s predecessor, Fallen Order, this instalment will include “expansive destinations to explore [and] evolved combat and traversal.” The post concludes with Respawn thanking everyone for their patience and giving them time to deliver “the best experience for our players.”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will include aspects from the original game such as five distinct combat stances. It will also see Kestis as a fully fledged Jedi Knight as he goes against the Empire. IGN was able to play the game back in December and noted its 14 gameplay changes.
It seems fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on this title. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait. Star Wars Jedi Survivor is set to be released on April 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
