Resident Evil 4 Remake hits 3 million sales

Despite the Resident Evil 4 Remake being out for less than a week, it has already hit 3 million sales. Safe to say, it’s off to a strong start.

Capcom have today announced that their Resident Evil 4 Remake has hit 3 million sales in less than two days. This perhaps comes as no surprise considering the nostalgic remake was one of the most anticipated games of 2023.

This is even more impressive considering RE4 took almost a year to reach this sales milestone. However, this fact can be taken with a pinch of salt considering it was only released for Gamecube and PlayStation 2. In comparison, the Remake is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

A Strong Start for the Resident Evil 4 Remake

The horror remake is currently boasting an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ title on Steam. This comes courtesy of 97% of the 22,939 user reviews being positive.

With this week also seeing the release of the PC port for The Last of Us Part 1, the Resident Evil 4 launch was a lot smoother. In comparison, TLOU has been met with disappointing reviews thanks to technical issues.

RE4 on the other hand has seen very few issues and is otherwise an excellent addition to PC in 2023.

Just the start for RE4

It was also announced this week that RE 4 will be receiving The Mercenaries DLC as soon as April 7. Despite fans expecting this addition considering it was a much-loved part of the original, they did not expect to see it arrive this soon.

This is excellent news for fans of the game who will have something else to look forward to after completing the game (and maybe a few New Game + runs).
