Season One and its accompanying Battle Pass have been revealed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as well as Warzone 2.
Starting November 16th, 2022, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players can look forward to the all-new Warzone 2 map, a new Gulag, a new DMZ mode, weapons, vehicles and much more. However, that is not all.
While fans are excited about Warzone 2, there’s plenty on offer for the more traditional multiplayer modes. Such as new maps, a new Raid co-op mode, and Call of Duty League Moshpit to name but a few.
What’s new with Call of Duty Warzone 2?
- The huge Al Mazrah Warzone map with 18 points of interest.
- The DMZ mode is Call of Duty’s take on Escape from Tarkov. In case you didn’t know, Escape from Tarkov is a popular narrative PC military shooter with “hardcore and realistic” gameplay action. I suppose we can think of DMZ as a hardcore version of Warzone.
- There will be a new Gulag as players will battle it out to earn a place back into the Warzone 2 map if they’re eliminated.
- Two new vehicles include the Heavy Chopper and Hummer EV.
- There will also be new gameplay features, including Aquatic Combat, circle collapse in which various areas of the map will close, new Buy Stations, player interrogation for valuable Intel, a third-person playlist as well as Proximity Chat.
What’s new with the traditional Call of Duty multiplayer?
- Two news maps, Shoothouse and Shipment, both 6v6.
- New three-player co-op Raid mode.
- New two-player co-op mission, High Ground.
- Call of Duty League Moshpit.
What else is new in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone?
The Season One 100-tier Battle Pass can unlock a new Operator named “Zeus” as well as two additional weapons, the BAS-P (SMG), the Victus XMR (Sniper) and more. Season One will also bring more weapons, DLC bundles and Operators.
A limited FC event will also take place which includes iconic footballers, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Paul Pogba as playable Operators.
Messi and Neymar Jr will be available on November 21st, with Pogba joining on the 25th. Furthermore, the FC event ends on November 29th and you will need to pay real money for the three footballer Operators.
In related news, rumours have been circulating that Call of Duty 2023 will be a “premium” release which comes bundled with single player DLC as well as a 20th-anniversary multiplayer map pack.
