It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since the Rick and Morty Season 5 finale aired. Although, that’s not as bad as the multi-year waits we’ve had to endure between seasons, like that of 2 and 3! Nevertheless, Adult Swim have finally given us a Rick and Morty season 6 release date – the 4th of September 2022.
That’s right, the premiere of Rick and Morty’s sixth season is only just over a month away! The news came from an on-brand social media drop, featuring both Morty and Rick looking proud whilst being absolutely shredded – likely part of a Season 6 episode.
On the show’s announcement over Instagram, Adidas even cheekily commented “Ripped from all that dribbling??⚽️?” – a nice callback to a recent crossover campaign video with the sportswear brand, which followed Morty needing to wear the adidas X Speedportal boots to win the International Unlicensed Cup. Because of course.
What will Rick and Morty Season 6 be about?
We’ve yet to see the first Rick and Morty Season 6 trailer to give us proper insight into the duo’s latest intergalactic shenanigans. However, Adult Swim have provided their own brief synopsis on what we can expect.
It’s season six and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss! Another can’t miss season of your favorite show.

What’s more, even after Season 6, we’ve still got plenty more to come. Adult Swim ordered 70 more episodes of Rick and Morty back in 2018. If the sixth season follows the usual size with 10 episodes, that means since Season 4, we won’t even be half way through that 70-episode order at the Season 6 finale!
