Resident Evil 4 Remake Has Been Officially Announced

Capcom has officially revealed the upcoming remake for Resident Evil 4, putting months of rumours finally to rest,

Announced during tonight’s Sony State of Play, Capcom revealed a trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The trailer showcases some iconic moments fans will recognise from the original game. This includes the village, castle, and underground settings. We also got a look at Ashley.

The game looks like it will use RE Engine, and stylistically looks similar to the other classic Resident Evil remakes that have been released recently. The design of Leon even closely matches how he looked in Resident Evil 2 remake.

Some in-engine footage has also been revealed, but no real gameplay has been shown just yet. Still, knowing this is finally on the way should give some Resident Evil fans a peace of mind.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on March 24th, 2023. It will also support PlayStation VR2 at launch.

In related news, Capcom has also announced Resident Evil Village will be getting PSVR2 support. This follows Resident Evil 7 which had PSVR support on last-gen systems. So now you can admire Lady D in all her glory in a whole new format.
