A new top-down racing game has been launched by Square Enix. Circuit Superstars is out now on PC and Xbox.
From Gran Turismo to Mario Kart, racing games are a perpetually popular genre of video games. In fact, the very first racing game was Gran Trak 10 on Atari – way back in 1973!
Now Square Enix has released a new top-racing game called Circuit Superstars, and it looks super cute. You can see the trailer here:
Though the chunky and sweet graphics are appealing to everyone, the game has some serious car racing talent behind it. According to reporting in The Gamer, the game has been worked on by F1 superstars Lando Norris and Romain Grosjean. As such there are lots of fun features for racing fans. You can customise your vehicle’s livery, complete time trials and create your own tournaments with friends or AI. There’s also a cool feature where you have to think about your pit stops:
‘Featuring tire degradation, fuel consumption, and damage, Circuit Superstars challenges you to dynamically choose your pit stop strategy during the race.‘
You can race a big selection of different vehicles too, including: Rallycross, Open wheel single seaters, SuperTrucks, GT racing, and Eurotrucks, among others. Circuit Superstars also has couch co-op, so it’s going straight on my list of good festive season family games. I know I have some extended family who will be charmed by the free Top Gear DLC that comes with the game, including the test track and Stig costume.
It’s out now on Steam and Xbox One and will come to PS4 and Nintendo Switch soon. See you on the track!
