As picked up by IGN, Beede’s previous career saw him working as GM on Call of Duty, as well as Destiny. With Call of Duty, Beede was instrumental in launching live-service parts of the franchise, such as Warzone and Mobile.

According to EA, Beede’s new position “signals a strategic, long-term commitment to the growth of the franchise“, suggesting Beede’s new role is going to be for future Battlefield projects, as well as the upcoming Battlefield 6.

Whether or not Beede’s new home at EA means we’ll be seeing more live-services within the new Battlefield game remains to be seen, but we wish Beede the best in his new role!

Speaking of Battlefield 6, EA has teased that gamers will be “blown away” by the reveal of the upcoming new addition to the series. June is when we’re expecting to see the first trailer for the next Battlefield, which is expected to release later this year.

We now know a little more about what to expect thanks to EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen, who spoke on Battlefield 6’s reveal during the company’s recent quarterly financials report [via MP1st]. If you were already excited for Battlefield 6, it’s time to ramp up the hype to 9000, as we’re set to be “blown away” when the trailer finally drops.

I’d love to tell you what I said when I saw the trailer last week, but I would – I can’t because it would get censored, but it’s just to emphasize Andrew’s point, I think people are going to be really blown away,” said Jorgensen.

“And I’ll tell you on gen-five, it is even more spectacular, but it will be great on either console, but it’s going to be very exciting, I think.

While we don’t have an official date for the release of the Battlefield 6 trailer, we do know it’s set for June. It’s safe to say the trailer could drop around E3 time. This year, E3 will be running from Sat, 12 Jun 2021 – Tue, 15 Jun 2021, so the wait for our first look at Battlefield 6 could be right around the corner!
