The upcoming game developed by Santa Ragione is already attracting attention thanks to its unique art style, and it promises to deliver a fantastically terrifying experience for all the horror lovers out there.

Though primarily a survival horror, Saturnalia also teases investigative gameplay, along with roguelite elements which will see the characters acting as lives. You’ll be playing through each character until they all die – unless you survive, presumably.

Saturnalia takes place in an isolated village in Sardinia, Italy, where people are known to “disappear during the winter solstice.” A game which promises a heavy focus on ancient rituals and terrifying mysteries, it’ll be up to you to “survive and unfold the secrets of the night of Saturnalia.”

According to the game’s official description, the village will change in structure each time you experience a game over, making for endless replayability should you choose to revisit the horror of Saturnalia. Non-linear progression and an adaptive narrative also mean you’re going to be welcomed back to the village again and again.

Your only “weapon” is a box of matches, which you must manage your supply of in order to both explore and solve the many puzzles the world has to offer.
