Last night, Square Enix revealed that a Guardians of the Galaxy game is on the way. However, while the game’s reveal trailer was packed full of action, it also contains a really cool detail you might have missed, check it out
So, what exactly is this elusive detail? Well, according to IGN’s Joshua Yehl, the nerdy nod can be found in Rocket’s beard. By zooming into a screenshot of Rocket from the Eidos trailer, Yehl discovered that one of the beads on the Raccoon’s beard actually looks like his best pal, Groot:
“the most important thing you need to know about Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game is the top bead in Rocket’s beard is carved to look like his best friend Groot.”
If you’re a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy, then you’ll already be aware of Rocket and Groot’s wholesome relationship. However, this minute easter egg from the trailer is a testament to the love the characters have for each other. While both Rocket and Groot are a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy family, the duo definitely has a unique relationship, one that’s completely evident in this new game.
Who knows, perhaps fans will discover more subtle nods like this in the trailer while we wait for the game’s release. If you missed Square Enix’s big announcement, its next Marvel game is set to feature a third-person, single-player experience with dynamic dialogue options and choices. The new Eidos project also manages to embody the essence of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise while providing fans with an entirely unique experience.
