Bandai Namco has announced a brand new JRPG based on the One Piece anime series, called One Piece Odyssey.
One Piece Odyssey is a JRPG filled with all the unique elements of adventure that fans enjoy in the One Piece anime series. During a voyage, the Straw Hats are swallowed by a huge storm and become separated from each other on a mysterious deserted island.
With this turmoil, the crew set out on a new adventure as they explore the island filled with dangerous enemies, weird encounters with locals, and perilous wonders to seek out.
In development for many years, One Piece Odyssey is intended to be the big project that allows fans of the anime to connect with the series.
Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, is contributing to the game with new character and monster designs. It also features music by Motoi Sakuraba, the composer for video games like Dark Souls and the Tales Of series.
If you don’t know what One Piece is, it’s a successful Japanese manga that has been running since 1997. It’s also a popular anime that has run for over a thousand episodes, which basically makes it the Coronation Street of anime.
One Piece Odyssey looks like the series will get the Breath of the Wild treatment, we’ll wait on more details for the game as they come in. It’s coming to PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2022.
