You can finally rest easy as it has officially been announced that the rumoured ‘Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!’ are being released for the Switch.
These new games create a whole new play style to Pokémon games. The games are based on the the old Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition. The games also use the mechanics of catching Pokémon GO. This comes along with a Poké ball controller that you can use to catch the Pokémon with.
Starter Pokémon Partner
At the start of the game you encounter a Pokémon. Depending on which version of the game you purchase it will either be Eevee or Pikachu. That Pokémon will then join your team and partner with you on your journey.
Your partner in crime will then stay with you at all times whether that is riding on your shoulder on chilling out sat on your head while you travel through the Pokémon world.
Your Partner also has an effect on the type and the rate than you encounter certain types of Pokémon so choose your game carefully!
Catching Pokémon
You can now use your Joy-con on your Nintendo Switch to catch Pokémon that you encounter. Simply press a button or flick your wrist to throw a Poké ball at the Pokémon you want to try and catch. They have made this as simple as possible to help welcome new players to the game as well as keep things new for veterans of the franchise.
You can now play Pokémon with your friend. Simply give your other joy-con to your friend and they will be able to help you catch Pokémon and battle against other trainers together. We aren’t sure how easy this will be and whether this will be more of a hinderance than a help but we shall wait and see.
Poké ball Plus
As mentioned earlier you can also use a Poké ball as a controller to help catch Pokémon. The ball lights up, vibrates and plays sounds. Apparently you will also be able to feel the Pokémon moving around inside the ball and if you are successful in your catch you will here that Pokémon’s cry. Just be careful not to actually throw the ball by accident.
You can also take Pokémon from the game in the Poké Ball plus and when you return them to the game you will be rewarded with various prizes and experience for that Pokémon.
Will you be picking up the new Pokémon game?
