Electronic Arts has announced that it is removing Russian clubs as well as national teams from sports titles like FIFA 22 and NHL 22.
This move will also be implemented in FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online. Electronic Arts’ decision to remove teams from FIFA and NHL is a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, as a result of its alliance with Russia, all Belarusian teams will also be removed from EA’s sports titles.
“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” reads a statement from the EA FIFA Twitter page, which you can read below.
A statement from the EA NHL Twitter page reads: “Following the IIHF’s suspension of all Russian and Belarusian national and club teams from IIHF competitions, we will be removing these teams from NHL 22 within the coming weeks.”
