A recent job listing at Rockstar Games has hinted that GTA 6 may feature large-scale destruction. How epic would that be?
The Rockstar Games job listing is for a new VFX artist and the advert details some exciting possibilities. However, firstly, we must stress that the job listing does not mention GTA 6 or any other title from Rockstar Games. That said, Rockstar Games isn’t known for being a prolific releaser of games and the pool is quite small in that respect.
The job listing requests a: “visual effects help to immerse the player in a believable world, from using ambient effects for things like insects around the player and rain dripping off buildings up to large scale destruction events like skyscrapers crashing to the ground.”
Now let’s look at this logically. The most notable Rockstar Games franchises are GTA, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne. Except for one-off titles such as Bully, L.A Noire and The Warriors.
Out of all the titles listed above, the series that is most likely to feature “large scale destruction events like skyscrapers crashing to the ground,” must be GTA, surely?
It certainly makes for an exciting prospect for the Grand Theft Auto series to feature large-scale destruction. However, we must take this news with a pinch of salt. Rockstar Games hasn’t outright confirmed GTA 6. Though we all know it will arrive, one day.
