Sorry gamers, a fan-favourite Far Cry feature has been cut from the upcoming Far Cry 6.
It’s been revealed that Far Cry 6 will be the first game in the series without Arcade mode, meaning no map editor – a decision which the development team apparently didn’t take lightly.
In a recent Reddit AMA (ask me anything), Far Cry 6’s game director Alexandre Letendre shared the sad news with fans, adding it was a “difficult” decision to make the cut.
“No, Arcade will not come back,” Letendre told Reddit. “Removing this mode from our plan was a difficult decision, but allowed us to focus our efforts on the main campaign, transporting players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution.”
For those not aware, Arcade is a community content creation suite, which allows players to build their own multiplayer maps to be shared online. Items in Arcade included different assets from various Ubisoft games, so suffice to say it’s a lot of fun.
While it’s disappointing to see Arcade won’t be making a return in Far Cry 6, we already know the game’s fictional island of Yara makes the game the biggest in the series to date, so hopefully we won’t run out of things to do for a while!

Far Cry 6 will comes to PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox consoles on October 7, 2021.
