Ubisoft has pulled Might and Magic X: Legacy from Steam as it was rendered unplayable while they fix the game’s DRM issues.
This year Ubisoft announced that they would be shutting down the servers for the RPG which was released in 2014. Furthermore, once the servers had closed on June 1st players were reporting that the game was not able to be played properly as it needed to be online due to DRM.
Consequently, Ubisoft has now pulled Might and Magic X: Legacy from Steam, while they attempt to fix the DRM problem.
Ubisoft has spoken
At this time there is no date as to when Might and Magic X: Legacy will return. Ubisoft has provided GameByte with the following statement though:
“We are constantly assessing what’s needed to deliver the best possible experience for our players. On June 1st, we shut down various services for several legacy games on PC, including for Might & Magic X – Legacy, as they could no longer meet our security standards.
During that process, we unfortunately encountered an unexpected issue with this title, preventing new and returning players to access the game and its DLCs. We are currently investigating all available options and will keep players informed as we can share more. In the meantime, we made the decision to remove Might & Magic X – Legacy from sale until further notice.”
Hopefully, this means that once a fix is found, Might and Magic X: Legacy will return back to Steam sooner rather than later.
Are you looking forward to when a fixed Might and Magic X: Legacy returns to Steam? Have you tried to play the game since it was removed from Steam? Let us know on Twitter.
