2018’s God of War was a bonafide masterpiece, scooping countless awards and really raising the bar for PlayStation exclusives through its narrative, its combat, its design and basically anything else you can think of.
But it’s now 2019 and we’ve played the game (several times, in fact), we’ve read the book and we’ve gone back to the early days of the original GoW series and played the heck out of those too. So…when are we getting a sequel to the 2018 hit game?!
Well, it won’t be for a while yet, but it’s definitely coming and it looks like production is about to start – at least according to a recent job listing.
Sony’s Santa Monica Studio is seeking game writers to join the team to “generate banter dialogue and supporting narrative content for various game systems.”
Various game systems, huh? Well, considering Santa Monica is a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, we can’t imagine we’re about to God of War 2 on the Nintendo Switch. More likely we’re talking about the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5. But that’s just pure speculation of course.
Although the job listing doesn’t outright mentioned God of War, it’s very much believed to be just that over on Twitter.
Game writers! Two positions open with the God of War folks at @SonySantaMonica. They need a writer and senior narrative writer. Onsite, contract. #gamewritinghttps://t.co/zlW2l3KZgthttps://t.co/SNzMypnLDi

I mean…what else would it be?!
With such huge god-sized boots to fill following the success of last year’s game, we want Sony to take as much time as needed to get the sequel 100% perfect.
Although that was a helluva cliffhanger to leave us all on, Sony!
Do you think this listing is for a GoW sequel?
