The release date for the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto V has finally been revealed, but it’s not as soon as you might think.
If you thought you might have had enough of GTA V after eight years, think again. Rockstar are releasing yet another version of Grand Theft Auto V for the next gen consoles. It was previously scheduled for release at the end of this year, but it seems that the game needs a little more time in the oven. It’s now slated for release in March 2022.
GTA V Coming in 2022
Announced at the Sony State of Play, Rockstar showed off a swanky new trailer for the game that we’re all too familiar with. The trailer welcomes us back to the world of Los Santos with open arms and the promised enhanced gameplay.
So what are you really getting for your money this time around? Well, Grand Theft Auto V is infamous for having long loading times between switching characters. Swapping between Michael, Franklin and Trevor offers a fun gameplay experience, but it can be particularly slow, even on the Xbox One and PS4. On the PS5, it seems like this process has been sped up drastically with the new SSD technology. As for whether this will translate to GTA Online, we’ll have to see.
While the new trailer dropped at the Sony State of Play, the new GTA V port is still coming to the Xbox Series X|S at the same time.
