Upcoming Professor Layton and the New World of Steam gets another yrailer

Since it was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has received another teaser trailer.

This news comes after the trailer was revealed during the Level5’s Vision 2023 stream. Although the trailer is just an extended version of the one shown at Nintendo Direct, it still gives us a bit more information.

The trailer ends with the arrival of Luke Triton who appears in a steampunk-style vehicle with mechanical legs. This is the first time we discover Luke will be making an appearance in this instalment.

Who is Luke Triton?

Luke Triton is the son of Mayor Clark Triton and a friend of Professor Layton. His role is pretty much Layton’s sidekick and he has appeared in a few of the franchise’s titles. This includes Miracle Mask, Curious Village and Diabolical Box, to name a few.

Luke will also be voiced by Mio Imada and fans may recognise his voice as Slice from My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising and Hinata Tachibana in Tokyo Revengers.

A puzzling puzzle

The new Professor Layton trailer also gave us some information on the puzzles players can expect to come across. They revealed that the puzzles will be designed by QuizKnock which is a Japanese Youtube channel focusing on quizzes. With over two million subscribers, it appears we will be in safe hands with puzzles that are both accessible and challenging.

However, we are yet to see any puzzle gameplay as of yet so it’s anybody’s guess what we will encounter.

Professor Layton’s New Story

The New World of Steam sees the dynamic duo, Layton and Luke begin an investigation into a mysterious time machine. The story begins when Luke seemingly receives a letter from his future self. Future Luke warns that Professor Layton now controls London and the only way to stop him is to stop him becoming evil before it’s too late.

The events of this title also takes place three years after the previous title, Unwound Future. Although the games can be fun to play regardless, make sure to play this one if you want to keep up with the story. Although Unwound Future was released back in 2008, it is still available on Android, iOS and Nintendo DS.
